    Last day with Alecia.
Thanks for being here with us this week, Alecia.

One last question, I'm sure everyone wants to know. What's up next for you?

Completing Forbidden Fruit, my Garden of Eden story for Changeling Press, and doing edits on Hyacinth In Bloom, a Greek myth story for Loose ID. I'm currently waiting to hear about an Incubus story I sent out, and a proposal for a mermaid story. So look for more steamy paranormals from me in 2006!

    Copy Edits
I dropped my son off at the Regional Science Fair this morning, he got picked out of 600 kids to go to regionals. Yes, I'm proud of him.

Judging took 3 hours. He had to sit in a gymnasium with 100 other kids and he wasn't allowed to leaves his project. Not only was he bored out of his mind he assured me it was a very, very long time for a teenage boy to go without food. LOL

So next year he decided he was going to do his project on : 101 ways to hang yourself with a shoelace during the science fair.
Apparently he had a long time to think about this..

Okay, so my blog post was Copy Edits. My copy edits for Pleasure Control arrived today. It now seems so real. I'll be working on these tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes.

    More with Alecia
Hi Alecia, you write about fairies and vampires. Do you plan to move into any other genre's or stay within paranormal?

I'm working on a story set in the Garden of Eden even as we speak, and possibly a mermaid story.I'm also interested in writing time travel and space travel romances. I can't see myself straying far from the paranormal subgenre, and I love erotic romance, so the type of stories I'm writing now seem to be a good fit. Never say never, though.

So what is your favorite genre to read? What are you reading right now?

I enjoy non-fiction a lot, and find that I get inspiration from reading about theology, mythology, history, women's studies, you name it. I also love romance and vampire stories, such as the Sookie Stackhouse books and the Anita Black series. Right now, I have two Harlequin Presents by Lucy Monroe, a favorite author, on my desk, and Fresh Lipstick, a book about the relationship between feminism and fashion. You could say I'm a varied reader.

    Day 2 Alecia Monaco
    Welcome back, Alecia.

Why don't you tell readers what a typical day is like for you.

I wish I had a typical day! I'm soooo not good at sticking to a schedule. But I usually check in with a few other authors, my wonderful editor at Changeling/Loose ID, read a little news, see what's happening in the blogosphere, and start writing. I try to edit the previous day's work to warm up, then I work on new pages. I like to write around eight pages a day, a few during the afternoon, then the bulk of it later at night, not long before bedtime

    Alecia Monaco
Hi everyone, I'd like to introduce the very talented, multi-published author Alecia Monaco. She'll be here all week answering questions. If you would like to ask her a few questions, please do. At the end of the week, I will pick a name from all those who have posted and send a little prize.

Hi Alecia and welcome. Can you tell us a bit about yourself? What inspired you to be a writer?

About me. Well, I'm 32 and live in Houston, Texas. I'm a lifelong bookworm, so becoming a writer is a natural extension of my love for the written word. I can't remember a time when I wasn't writing. Even before I could hold a pen, I dictated stories to other people. I think I always knew this was my calling, and I'm glad I found the right niche in the publishing world! Other than reading, I enjoy cooking, crafts, animals and am kid of an information/research junkie.

Can you tell us a bit about your latest release, Kiss of the Fairy?

Kiss Of The Fairy takes the reader into the world of Irish myth and magic, a land populated by fairies and fey, leprechauns and Celtic goddesses. When this world collides with the modern world though a romance between the Irish love fairy and a single guy from Boston, anything can happen!

Stayed tuned, I'll be chatting more with Alecia tomorrow.

    Movies
My daughter and I went to see She's the Man yesterday. I was expecting a real cutesy kids movie and was pleasantly surprised by how much I LOVED this movie. I actually laughed until I cried. My poor daughter was thoroughly embarrassed with me. I was still laughing in the car on the way home.
Amanda Bynes is fabulous. I love her comedic timing and her facial expression and the guy playing opposite her was terrific, not to mention very cute! :))
It's a romantic comedy/soccer movie and since I love romantic comedies and soccer this was the perfect movie for me. Has anyone else seen it?

    Web of Desire's first review
Like all authors, I'm sure, we all worry about those reviews. I've been biting my nails waiting to hear feedback on Web of Desire. Well the first reveiw is in and it's a keeper!! YAY

    5 stars from Cataromance:

Growing up as a witch in Belhaven, Ally Shears knew she had a responsibility to the townspeople who had taken in her ancestors and protected them from prosecution. Therefore, when she discovered that her cousin Selina was using her witchcraft to lure the local men to an abandoned house, trapping them and abusing them sexually, she was determined to be the one to banish her to the netherworld. She accomplished the task but could never forget Selina's promise to return.

Ten years later, Selina has somehow returned and Ally must once again travel to the old abandoned house to banish her cousin to the netherworld. However, when she enters the house, Ally is in for a surprise. The man caught in Selina's magical web is none other than Tanner Cage, her high school crush. Tanner had stood her up on Prom night, the night they had planned to consummate their young love, and broken her heart by leaving town to join the military. Having Tanner at her mercy is something Ally never thought would happen, but she'll take advantage of the situation, get a little revenge and maybe even some sexual gratification along the way.

Wow! This short story really packs a punch. Web of Desire is a quick-paced, sensuous delight that will trap you before you know it. When it comes to Tanner, Ally's past is riddled with pain. Finding him vulnerable and trapped makes it easy for Ally to concentrate on her revenge as opposed to remembering the hurt. Although he doesn't seem to remember her or their past, she definitely gives him memories for the future. Don't pick up this book if you want a story full of paranormal elements since the witch angle is just briefly touched upon. However, if you want to be introduced to two characters and experience the love that somehow finds a way to survive lost memories, jealousy and evil witchcraft, pick up this fantastic short story by Cathryn Fox, you won't be disappointed!

    Marketing

I spent this week marketing instead of writing. I'm so excited about all the fun stuff I have planned for the launch of my first AVON RED book. I'm going to be holding a bookseller contest and a reader contest. I really think you'll like the prize. It's still a secret right now!

I recently made flyers and I think they turned out beautiful. I also ordered some bookmarks. I'll let you all know when they arrive and if you'd like one, just send me your address.

Don't worry about the USBN on the bottom it's been change to ISBN...Just a slip of the finger on the keyboard.

Now back to my characters today. They're calling me and I want to go have some fun with them.

    Have a great weekend everyone!

    Dreams
Okay, I need some interpretation here. For all you dream interpreters, what do you think of this dream.

I was in a car with my daughter. We were sitting crossed legged in the backseat, looking out the back window. There was no backrest, just a big window. I was talking on the cell phone (got a new one last night, so that was probably why I was on the phone, but this dream isn't about that)

So this bird flies right up to the window and comes within an inch of the pane. It was soooo beautiful I couldn't talk. I was mesmerized. It had a glowing yellow round head and round body. I couldn't see the wings flapping.

I then saw another bird, white this time, now here's the weird thing. It had on a little white outfit that said ANGEL...gee, beat me over the head with it. LOL...So I feel all warm and amazing inside. Really, really amazing inside.

So this yellow bird reached through the window pane so fast it was blurry and touches Allison. I was certain it was a woman's arms that came through the window. A glowing, delicate set of hands touched her.

Then all these birds come through the window. I'm no longer in the back seat of the car but I'm in a house. The birds are against a wall and are all falling, one at a time. Allison and I were catching them and carefully placing them on the floor. Deep in my gut I knew it was some kind of test. We were being tested, but I wasn't sure why or how.

It felt like I was being tested to see if I would take my favorite one and walk away, or would I catch them all. However, I still felt all warm and wonderful inside. The dream is still happy and positive.

I looked up definitions in my dream dictionary for Angel, glowing, yellow and bird. I would love to hear others opinions on this dream.

    Angels
To see angels in your dream, signifies an unusual disturbance in your soul. Angels symbolize goodness, purity, and protection and comfort and consolation. Pay careful attention to the message that the angels are trying to convey. These messages serve as a guide toward greater fulfillment and happiness. Angels may appear in your dream as a result of your wicked and mean-hearted activities.
To dream that you are an angel, suggests that you are feeling good about something your said or did.
In particular, to see three angels symbolizes some sort of divinity and is considered a particularly spiritual and holy dream.
To see an angel holding a scroll in your dream, indicates a highly spiritual dream. Your future and goals are more clearer to you. The message on the scroll is particularly significant.

    Bird
To dream of a chirping and/or flying birds, represents joy, harmony, ecstasy, balance, and love. It denotes a sunny outlook in life. You will experience spiritual freedom and psychological liberation. It is almost as if a weight has been lifted off your shoulders.

    Glow
To see a glow in your dream, symbolizes enlightenment and that new light has been shed onto a situation. You have gained a fresh perspective and reached a welcomed understanding.

    Yellow

Colors in dreams represent energy, emotions, and vibes. First consider what that single color in your dream means to you and your own personal associations and relationship with that color.

The color yellow has both positive and negative connotations. If the dream is a pleasant one, then the color yellow is symbolic of intellect, energy, agility, happiness, harmony, and wisdom. On the other hand, if the dream is an unpleasant one, then the color represents cowardice and sickness. You may have a fear or an inability to make a decision or take action. As a result, you are experiencing many setbacks.

    White
White represents purity, perfection, peace, innocence, dignity, cleanliness, awareness, and new beginnings. You may be experiencing a reawakening or have a fresh outlook on life. However, in Eastern cultures, white is associated with death and mourning.
