Web of Desire's first review |
Like all authors, I'm sure, we all worry about those reviews. I've been biting my nails waiting to hear feedback on Web of Desire. Well the first reveiw is in and it's a keeper!! YAY
5 stars from Cataromance:
Growing up as a witch in Belhaven, Ally Shears knew she had a responsibility to the townspeople who had taken in her ancestors and protected them from prosecution. Therefore, when she discovered that her cousin Selina was using her witchcraft to lure the local men to an abandoned house, trapping them and abusing them sexually, she was determined to be the one to banish her to the netherworld. She accomplished the task but could never forget Selina's promise to return.
Ten years later, Selina has somehow returned and Ally must once again travel to the old abandoned house to banish her cousin to the netherworld. However, when she enters the house, Ally is in for a surprise. The man caught in Selina's magical web is none other than Tanner Cage, her high school crush. Tanner had stood her up on Prom night, the night they had planned to consummate their young love, and broken her heart by leaving town to join the military. Having Tanner at her mercy is something Ally never thought would happen, but she'll take advantage of the situation, get a little revenge and maybe even some sexual gratification along the way.
Wow! This short story really packs a punch. Web of Desire is a quick-paced, sensuous delight that will trap you before you know it. When it comes to Tanner, Ally's past is riddled with pain. Finding him vulnerable and trapped makes it easy for Ally to concentrate on her revenge as opposed to remembering the hurt. Although he doesn't seem to remember her or their past, she definitely gives him memories for the future. Don't pick up this book if you want a story full of paranormal elements since the witch angle is just briefly touched upon. However, if you want to be introduced to two characters and experience the love that somehow finds a way to survive lost memories, jealousy and evil witchcraft, pick up this fantastic short story by Cathryn Fox, you won't be disappointed!
