Feeling miserable |
Yesterday I went to the naturopathic doctor (I just love this lady) for a deep massage on my neck and back and man, do I ever feel miserable now. After I got home all I wanted to do was go to bed, but I had to take my son to a soccer game over an hour away. It was hell driving too, I couldn't turn my head. Last night I crashed with the kids at nine but I didn't sleep because my muscles were sore and it hurt to move. I couldn't get comfortable. All my neck and back muscles ache today from the deep massage. I'm sure the end results will be good but the interim..ugh..not so good.
I have a hair appointment this morning and I thought about canceling, but I hate to do that last minute. Then Alex has another away game today. So I'm sure I'll be to bed early again.
On another note, I got my proposal off to my agent. Fingers crossed on this one. I just love it.
Hope everyone else is having a fabulous Tuesday! |

Holidays for the troops! |
From Laurie Damron
REMINDER! Holidays for the Troops!
Because the holidays are just around the corner, we are putting together another Holidays for the Troops project, hoping that it will be our most successful campaign to date!
Most of you know how this works, but I'll give a quick run-down for those who don't. You send either items to be sent to the troops or checks, money orders or gift cards to be used to shop for the troops, I then put together shipments and send them out to servicemen and women in Iraq and Afghanistan.
This link - http://lorifoster.com/author/militarytribute.htm - will take you to the Military Tribute page on Lori Foster's website where you will find a complete list of suggested items in the event you would like to do your own shopping for the troops. In return for your donation, your name will be entered in a raffle for some wonderful prizes. While I haven't decided on just how to put the prize packages together, the following incredible list shows the wonderful goodies that are being donated by various authors and others in the romance community:
LORI FOSTER: A t-shirt and tote bag from Cafepress, one arc of Causing Havoc, one copy each of A Very Merry Christmas, Jude's Law, Murphy's Law, Wildly Winston, When Good Things Happen to Bad Boys and Bad Boys of Summer
DIANNE CASTELL: Three copies of Texas Bad Boys and other goodies
BECKY BARKER: Books
KAREN KELLEY: One copy each of: Texas Bad Boys, Hell on Wheels, Temperature's Rising, Southern Comfort, Southern Exposire, and Bad Boys with Expensive Toys
ERIN MCCARTHY: One copy of You Don't Know Jack, one copy of High Stakes, two copies of The Night Before Christmas, and one copy of The Naked Truth
JILL SHALVIS: A box of Aussie Rules to be used for the raffle and to send to the troops
SHILOH WALKER: Two copies of Hunting the Hunter, one for the raffle and one for the troops
TONI BLAKE: One copy of In Your Wildest Dreams and one copy of Taking Care of Business
LUANN MCLANE: One copy of Dark Roots and Cowboy Boots, one copy of Hot Summer Nights and one copy (if she has her copies by then) of Love, Lust and Pixie Dust
JANICE MAYNARD: One copy of Wildest Dreams and one copy of Suite Fantasy
LUCY MONROE: Two copies each of Ready, Willing, and Able, Star Quality, The Real Deal, 3 Brides for 3 Brothers, and one copy of Beach Blanket Bad Boys (half will be used for the raffle and half will be sent to the troops)
KARIN TABKE: One copy each of The Hard Stuff and Good Girl Gone Bad
TONYA RAMAGOS: One download of her ebook, Heavy Metal Seduction 2: Picking Art
KELLEY VITOLLO: One download of her new ebook, Dream Man
CARA NORTH: Two copies of her new book, Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off
RITA RAYMOND: Three bath & body gift baskets
STACY AHLGREN: $25. gift certificate to Barnes & Noble
ALYSON HACKETT OF MUCKY'S MORSELS online bakery is donating the following raffle prize: 1 dozen Seven Sinful Layers, 1 Dozen Chocolate Chip and 1 dozen Mint Brownies. Check Mucky's Morsels out here - (be prepared to drool): http://www.muckysmorsels.com/
GENESIS PROMOTIONS: A Genesis Promotions Pillow from CafePress
LAURIE: $25. gift certificate to Gooseberry Patch online country store - go have a look: http://www.gooseberrypatch.com/Pretty amazing, huh? I will be updating this list as I receive additional donations. The raffle drawing will be held on October 31st. It is exciting every time we send shipments for the troops but the holiday boxes are especially fun to put together. Cards and letters from those who donate are welcome and hugely appreciated. It is incredibly heartwarming and rewarding. I am hopeful that if you have a blog you might mention this project and provide my information. Please let any authors that you're acquainted with know about this exciting project! There is absolutely nothing political about this project. It is simply a show of support for the men and women who serve our country. Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions. Thanks bunches,Laurie

Playing hooky |
Yesterday I played hooky and had the most wonderful day. Hubby and I took off to the city and did some Christmas shopping..Yes, I'm one of those anal people who shop early and then end up spending way too much money because as Christmas approaches the kids see other things they want.
So I went to Chapter, naturally, and picked up Swept Away by Toni Blake. I read the opening and I already love the hero...sigh.
I chatted with a few bookstore employees, who all happened to be men. Yes, I love men and chatting with men who love books..well, that is almost better than sex!!
They helped me pick out some books for the kids. I got Allison, Sisterhood of the travelling Pants and I can't remember the title I got Alex. I wanted to get Alex interested in a series and this guy recommended it.
Anyway as we chatted it came out that I wrote erotic romance. So the employee calls another employee over, who calls another employee over, and so on and so on. By the time my hubby came to find me, I was standing there talking to 4 men. Hubby just shakes his head. Did I mention I love men, and books!!
I have a list on 8 things I need to do today, so I better get at it. Have a great Thursday everyone. |

Christine Feehan |
I woke up this morning, opened my email, and then spent ten minutes deleting spam. No I do not want a knock of Bulgaria Watch, nor do I need Viagra to up my sex life or Anatrim to get thinner (well..okay maybe I'll go reread that one) and I have no idea why that damn minister of the Sierra Leonian government thinks I'll secure his money for him!! Anyway as I began my ritual deleting process I see the name Christine Feehan in the subject line. I stop, and do a double take, wondering if someone is playing a joke on me. Surely to God, THE CHRISTINE FEEHAN isn't emailing me.
After I read the message once, twice and then a third time I nearly peed my pants. Okay, maybe 'nearly' isn't the right word.
Christine Feehan wants to talk books with me! Wow!! Is it my birthday already? Has Christmas come early? After reading the email the fourth time, I conclude that yes, my birthday and Christmas have both come early!! LOL
I'm such a HUGE fan of Christine's. So believe me I was totally blown away, and thrilled to get an email from her.
Here's the funny thing. I have Mind Games sitting on my desk. My sports fanatic son comes in to my office and I say look at my email and now look at this book. He does and then look at me and goes...OMG, that would be like Michael Jordan emailing me.
And he's right!!
Okay...off to change my pants...snicker. |

So silly! |
Sometimes I can be so silly and I find the strangest things funny. My kids often tell me I'm still just a twelve year old.
Here's what's been making me laugh lately. We have a pizzeria down the road. They have a sign out that says. Fresh Whole Clams and Home Fries...ummm, yummy.
So every night someone is messing with the sign.
Friday: Flesh Whore Clams and Home Fries.
Saturday: Fresh Whore Clams and Home Flies.
Sunday: Fresh Clam Holes and Home Fries.
Now I find this hilarious. I can't wait to see what tomorrow says. Yes, I know, I'm need to grow up...snicker. I tell ya though, I sure what some of those clams!! |

Stinky Chair strikes again!! |
Do you all remember my June blog about my stinky office chair? If not, you can check out the June archives and read it.
Well a funny thing happened the other day. I got an email from a guy who obviously bought the same chair. Check it out.
Dear Cathryn I have a chair that my boss purchased for me Feb. 06. I believe it was from staples as well. I was also baffled why it smelled like skunk at my desk. Others that sat in it complained about a smell. We have sprayed several times with febreeze and it just gets stronger. So today I decided to search the net for this problem and I ran into your article. So I'm not alone with a cursed chair. |

Launch Day!!! |
The first full-length novel to launch the steamy new Avon Red line, has just hit the shelves!!
Five days before her wedding to a man she admires but doesn't love, Katrina Spencer escapes to a private island. There, she can let the sun warm her body as she contemplates a future without the passion she craves. Then she lazily opens her eyes, only to see Brock Denton... muscular, half-naked, the one who got away - the one who makes her body tingle with arousal.
How Brock arrived is a mystery, but it's clear he's in danger. Kat faces danger, too, in the arms of a man who is determined to free her from her every inhibition with his hands, his mouth, and more! Kat has five steamy days and five sultry nights to make up her mind - return home to a man she doesn-t love, or satisfy her wildest passions with Brock and let her herself be...Swept Away.
This is one book you're not going to want to miss! To read more about the fabulous Toni Blake check uut her website here. |
