    Stinky Chair strikes again!!
Do you all remember my June blog about my stinky office chair? If not, you can check out the June archives and read it.

Well a funny thing happened the other day. I got an email from a guy who obviously bought the same chair. Check it out.

    Dear Cathryn
I have a chair that my boss purchased for me Feb. 06. I believe it was from staples as well. I was also baffled why it smelled like skunk at my desk. Others that sat in it complained about a smell. We have sprayed several times with febreeze and it just gets stronger. So today I decided to search the net for this problem and I ran into your article. So I'm not alone with a cursed chair.

OK this is wierd. I bought my chair from 'Office Depot' and it has that same 'Skunky' smell to it now. Like your post I've tried Frebreze, carpet deodorizer and even shampooing the chair and it just keeps getting stronger.

I decided to see if I could find some type of carbon based filtered pad to put on my chair and when I googled I found your blog and comments.

I believe this may be the same company or chair manufacture that sells to the big box office stores maybe?

I also have a chair recently purchased that smells like a skunk. The cloth padding smells horrible. Febreze does nothing for me either. It is too late to return it.

      Very strange.

What kind of chair was it?

I have a high-back faux leather chair that I bought at Office Depot about 2 years ago. It was $69 after the rebate and a nice looking chair. Anyway, it now REAKS really bad. Nothing works. I tried Mr. Clean, body spray, powder etc. The smell permeated anyhing you put over the seat as well such as an acrylic blanket.

I'm purchasing a new fabric or leather chair tonight and putting the skunky chair on the corner for the garbage men.

I'd love to track it to see how many people pull it out of the trash only to find it reaks, then they throw it out and someone else will pick it up.
