MIA |
Sorry I haven't been posting lately. Life is just so crazy right now. We're in the middle of another soccer tournament this weekend, (Alex got MVP for the first game) between that, packing, cleaning, and making 1 million arrangements before I travel to Atlanta, I barely have time to breathe.
Then I had a clothing crisis. LOL. And I can't sew. So I had to ask my wonderful neighbour to adjust the straps on my dress. She is a gem.
I'll be signing copies of Making Waves during the literacy signing 5:30-8:30 Wednesday the 26th. If you are going to be there please come say hi. I would LOVE to meet all of you. I'll also be doing a presentation on Saturday the 29th from 3:15-4:15. Pillow Talk--how NOT to make you book read like a bad adult movie.
Hugs for now. I have to go switch the laundry and get on with the packing! |

Soccer! |
Boy oh boy soccer sure keeps me hopping. This is my son receiving a gold medal at the tournament. Yay!! They did well. They played 5 games over three days in the blistering heat. They have a home tournament this weekend and will play six games from Friday to Sunday. Right before I go away to Atlanta. oy! (I travel to the city Sunday to catch my plane Monday) I'm team manager and have 2 million things to do before the tournament, along with packing, getting the dog taken care of, clean the house, and then getting the kids packed up to go to my sisters.
But Yay!! I'm going to Atlanta and I'm super excited. Anyone else going? |

Books |
I recently finished reading Getting Even, Spice, by Kayla Perrin. I heard mixed reviews on this book but I found myself enjoying the writing and the characters. And also recently finished Beyond the Edge, Blaze Susan Kearney. It was different for Blaze but I enjoyed it.
I recently started Megan's Wolf by Lora Leigh, I think I'm going to love this story. And I'm halfway through, If this Bed Could Talk, Avon Red, which I love.
I usually have two or more books on the go. I like to read trade size when I go to the gym. It's easier for me to hold when I'm on the exercise bike. So I read one book at the gym and one at home.
Up next for me is Bound, by Sasha White, and Ask for It by Sylvia Day!
What are you all reading and what are you looking forward to reading.
On another note...it's getting close to Nationals and I'm having scary flying dreams..ugh. |

Snap Crackle Pop! |
I bet you're thinking I'm talking about Rice Krispies right? Wrong! I'm talking about my trip to the chiropractor today.
I finally went, under duress, mind you.
I absolutely HATE going. I have a herniated disc in my neck and it gives me great pain. Two years ago I went to the chiro and met with wonderful results. But I get so damn stressed out. I lay there on the table and sweat profusely. I can barely make conversation because I'm so worked up and I hate to even think about my blood pressure!
Anyway...
Last week after all my coughing I really did a number on my neck. My husband called and made me the appointment, insisting I go. I flatly refused. So today was the day of my appointment and 30 minutes before I was in the pool with the kids, hiding in the deep end. My husband bribed the kids to get me out. I was adamant I wasn't going. Talk about a two year old throwing a tantrum. LOL. So my husband gives me until the count of ten to come out. When I didn't budge, he stripped to his underwear and socks and jumped in.
Then when I still wouldn't budge, he got out and told me he was disappointed in me because I really needed to have my neck looked after. God! Mad I can handle. Pissed off I can handle. But disappointed...gawd...
So I get out, and get dressed and grab the car keys. I know my husband was grinning inwardly but he doesn't say anything. I told him I'd be back later but oh no, that wasn't good enough. He insisted on driving me. I guess he figured I'd go shopping instead. Smart guy. LOL
So I went and had my neck and back cracked. My husband is happy again. Until the next appointment.... |

Nacho Libre |
It was a rainy afternoon so the kids and I decided to go to the theatre. We ended up watching Nacho Libre. I didn't really enjoy it, even though I love Jack Black. Actually I spent most of my time thinking about my CP's story and trying to work through a plot problem we were having. The kids enjoyed it though, except for the wrestling scenes. My daughter had to turn her head during those.
I'm now counting down the days to Pirates!! I also heard the Superman was FANTASTIC. I would have preferred to see that today but the kids had their hearts set on Nacho.
Speaking of superheroes, I saw a preview with Uma Thurman in it and she's playing a superhero. It looked stupid, but it appears superheroes are huge right now! |
