I bet you're thinking I'm talking about Rice Krispies right? Wrong! I'm talking about my trip to the chiropractor today.
I finally went, under duress, mind you.
I absolutely HATE going. I have a herniated disc in my neck and it gives me great pain. Two years ago I went to the chiro and met with wonderful results. But I get so damn stressed out. I lay there on the table and sweat profusely. I can barely make conversation because I'm so worked up and I hate to even think about my blood pressure!
Anyway...
Last week after all my coughing I really did a number on my neck. My husband called and made me the appointment, insisting I go. I flatly refused. So today was the day of my appointment and 30 minutes before I was in the pool with the kids, hiding in the deep end. My husband bribed the kids to get me out. I was adamant I wasn't going. Talk about a two year old throwing a tantrum. LOL. So my husband gives me until the count of ten to come out. When I didn't budge, he stripped to his underwear and socks and jumped in.
Then when I still wouldn't budge, he got out and told me he was disappointed in me because I really needed to have my neck looked after. God! Mad I can handle. Pissed off I can handle. But disappointed...gawd...
So I get out, and get dressed and grab the car keys. I know my husband was grinning inwardly but he doesn't say anything. I told him I'd be back later but oh no, that wasn't good enough. He insisted on driving me. I guess he figured I'd go shopping instead. Smart guy. LOL
So I went and had my neck and back cracked. My husband is happy again.
Until the next appointment.... |

Wow I am ss to hear about your neck hun. I know how you feel as you know the whole thing about my leg 2yrs to long LoL. Until my fiance actually took action and found a good doctor that knows what she is doing. Since I went to three other ones and they never did anything about it LoL.
I am glad you went to the chiro. You should have gone sooner hun. Being in pain is no fun especially when it's your neck. That must have been painful. I hope you feel better soon.

ML, Mark called and tried to get an emergency appointment but they couldn't fit me in and the longer I waited, the harder it got!
My neck isn't feeling much better, actually it hurts like hell from all his probing.
I have to start back on a regular routine, and I will. He's away for the next two weeks, then I'm off to Atlanta, so it will be August before I get in again. I should be good and stiff by them. LOL

Eeek! My neck hurts just thinking about a chiropractor. I've been several times, and let me tell you, had my chiropractor not been one of the most gorgeous men on the face of the earth, I would have stopped going after the second session. But I stayed. And drooled. Until he closed his practice. Then I wept. LOL
Hope you're feeling better, Cathryn. A writer with a bad back/neck is like a bicyclist with bad knees. The two don't go together!

Sorry to hear about your neck...I have similiar problems and my chiro has made me better.
I know how you feel about going to one as I am the same way and force myself to go. ;-)
I have had bad experiences with them but kept looking for the right one who would fit me. And I found him in the fourth chiro guy I visited.
If this guy helped you the last time I'm sure he can help you again. :-)
Hugs to you and hope your neck is back in shape in no time flat!

Cathryn I found ibuprofin and ice packs to the neck helped after my first few visits to the chiro.
I also found a couple of nice professional massages to the sore areas brought some nice relief.
Apparantly some pain is normal and should go away within 72 hours. The pain is your muscles reacting to the spine being loosened up.
