| US Consulate |
Yesterday I went to the US consulate because I have to get a US tax number for income tax purposes. What a freaky experience that was.
I enter this great big building and there is no one around. It's so quiet you could hear a pin drop. I take the elevator to the 9th floor. Once there I walk up to the door and naturally just go to open it. It was locked. I tried it a second time, pushing, pulling, wiggling the handle.
Then I decide to read the big sign, and I hear..."Can I help you?" I look around all freaked out, and realize it's an intercom..
So I say.."Uh, yeah, I have an appointment. I'm here for a tax number."
So the door beeps and I enter. After I get inside I'm practically strip searched, and anal probed by the security guy. Once that's complete, I have to leave all my belongings in this cubby hole and take this laminated card with me.
Then I have to walk through a security thing like at the airport.. followed by more anal probing. I then move on to another room, where I'm told to sit and wait. I glance up to see this HUGE picture of Bush. He's staring down at me as if to say. "We Want You!" That didn't help my nerves at all.
So I get called up to this counter, with bullet proof glass separating me from the clerk. I'm asked to sign papers. By this time I'm so freaked out, my hands are shaky and I drop the pen twice. After my papers are notarized and my fee paid, I am all ready to go.
I pick up my belongings and go leave. I'm waiting for the elevators and the security guy comes rushing out of the office calling me. I'm so freaked, that I practically press my hands to the wall and spread my legs, waiting for the strip search. At this point, I'm pretty sure I would have confessed to any crime. LOL.
So the guys asks if I took the laminated card with me...and by God, I did. So I hand it back and got the hell out of there. |

| Real life romantic moment! |
I don't consider my DH to be romantic, but every now and then he does something that totally blows me away.
I haven't been feeling very good lately and last night I was laid out on the couch with chills, headache and a wicked sore throat. DH took my daughter to the gym to play volley ball. They were really, really late getting home and I was upset because Allison had an early morning band trip to the city and it was past her bedtime.
So DH walks into the door and I start ranting at him...blah, blah, blah.
My daughter comes in behind him holding chocolates, flowers, and a pina colada mix (my fav).
DH says, Happy Anniversary. I'm like HUH? We got Married Dec 29th!
He says, 22 years ago today we went on our first date and watched Fast Times at Ridgemont High! And by God, he was right.
So I felt pretty crappy about ranting at him...LOL
Playing off my guild, DH asks if he can take a picture of me, (while I looked like death) to remember the moment...Talk about pushing it!!!
I went back to ranting again... |

Pleasure Prolonged is an erotic feast. Fox masterfully creates sexual tension with just a glance or the slightest touch between her hot-for-each-other characters. This book is best read in close proximity to an air conditioner with the fan turned on high.

| Bad Blogger |
Hi all,
I've been a bad blogger lately...I must be spanked...snicker.
Seriously though, I've been working really hard on a proposal and to top it all off I'm not feeling so hot. I've got this nasty headache which I think is from my sinuses, but I don't want to go to the doctor. That's a good 2 hour chunk from my day. ugh. I'm hoping it will just go away on its own.
I've been thinking about Christmas presents lately too. I need to shop. My son wants the new Nintendo WII, it's one of those systems that everyone camped overnight on the streets to get. Good Lord.
But I did get him one. I pre ordered one for him ages ago. I didn't camp out, but I did go to the store for opening and they had four left. whew!
I've been thinking about my daughter. She loves scrap booking and LOVES photography. She often uses my camera. I think I'd like for her to have a camera of her own. Something she can take to school with her and take pics of her friends. I don't want to spend too much but I don't want to buy her a crappy one either. I'm thinking around $100. Anyone know of anything good?
Back to work now. I have 2 more pages to write to make my daily page count. If all goes well, and accordingly, (without any doc's visits) I should be done first draft on December 8th, then I can take a nice long Christmas break. Yay!! |

| First Sighting!! |
First sighting...
I'm so excited, I can't sit still.
Yesterday I saw Pleasure Control on the shelf at my local bookstore!!!! YAYAYAY...I'm so excited. My sister called me from work and said she found it at her bookstore. They only had two copies and the cover was ripped on one. :((
She bought the good one, took it back to work and showed all her friends, who are all going to get their own copy now! Yay sis, thank you.
My local bookseller told me she's putting my books in the front of the store on the shelf below Best Sellers. I love her.

Your Opinion (If You Like The Book, Back Up Why.)
Wow! Individually, each of the stories in the anthology Alluring Tales - Awaken the Fantasy more than sizzle, but united in one hot little book, they are downright combustible! The title promises alluring tales, and it definitely delivers!
With some anthologies, you find several stories you like or love, and maybe a story or two that aren't quite up to par. It would be hard to find anyone who could say this about Alluring Tales - Awaken the Fantasy! Each story is just as good as the last one. I personally would be hard pressed to choose a favorite between them, and am very grateful I don't have to!
Lover's Locket by Cathryn Fox ~ This is the first story I've ever read by Cathryn Fox, and I find myself compelled to look for more of her work after reading it. Lover's Locket is a surprisingly complex story of ancient curses, forbidden love, and reincarnation. I use the word complex due to its brevity. Fox has woven an intricate history for her leading lady in this story, proving her skill with the short story format.
Kili's Ice Man by Delilah Devlin ~ I confess to a love of Science Fiction and I am always intrigued by Virtual Reality themes. I wasn't disappointed with Devlin's addition to this anthology! Kili programs her Virtual Reality session with what she believes is her dream man, but all bets are off when the Ice Man himself gets wind of her plan! Gunnar proves to be a remarkably sensitive he-man type, taking both Kili and the reader by surprise!
The Hottest One Night Stand by Lisa Renee Jones ~ I wanted to read this book because of Lisa Renee Jones contribution to it, having thoroughly enjoyed other stories written by her. Even had I not enjoyed any of the other stories in this anthology, Jones' story would still have made this a worthwhile read! She reaches into every woman's fantasy of an anonymous encounter with a dangerous man, and then turns the tables on both the leading lady and the readers when he turns out to be so much more!
Out of the Shadows by Myla Jackson ~ From the very start, Jackson fosters empathy for her hero, with the reader sharing his confusion and frustration for the woman he loves. When we are finally allowed insight as to her reasons for turning TJ away, our heart breaks for both of them.
A Familiar Kind of Magic by Sylvia Day ~ With A Familiar Kind of Magic, Day proves a woman can find strength and power in letting go. Max proves himself as a gentle and sly Dominant when he sets out to tame Victoria, simultaneously empowering her and allowing her to unleash the needs she has subjugated for years.
Tempting Grace by Sasha White ~ Sasha White is also a new author for me, and I will recommend her without reservation to anyone interested in this genre! She has included a wonderful contemporary tale that proves love isn't always where we expect it to be, nor in the form we anticipated.
Quick Silver by Vivi Anna ~ I'm not quite certain just how Vivi Anna included so much plot in so few words, but she did - and did it well! Sangria's tale is one of loneliness and hardship, but she finds a way out in the most unlikely of places... |
