    Three ladies and a plot!
The other day a fellow writer/friend said we should do an anthology together. I said sure, so we discussed it and asked a third writer to join us. Over the next week we plotted, went back and forth, vetoed ideas, came up with new ones, got way off track, wrote synopses, threw them out, and came back to the drawing/plotting board.

Wow, it was a lot of work coming together with a story that all three agreed on. Bear in mind we are all aggressive, strong minded women, but the nicest thing is we did it and we were able to veto ideas without anyone having their feelings hurt, we were able to go back and forth, discuss what we liked, what we didn't like, why we though one idea would work, and why other ideas wouldn't.

At no time at all did I feel I couldn't voice my opinion with these ladies and say how I felt, and I know they felt they could express themselves as well.

It was a very rewarding experience and I think we came up with a hell of a kick ass story that I can't wait to write.

All I can say right now is it's three novellas, three sexy stories, set in a haunted house. So if there are any editors out there reading this and love this idea, let me know. :)))

    What I've been up to.
    Hi all,
    Gee, I've been MIA, haven't I.

Here's what I've been up to. Last week I worked hard and wrote a 10,000 word quickie. I love this story and hope it gets picked up. I'll let you know more when I do!

The kids are still home, they don't go back to school until Sept 6th so my days are busy juggling career and family.

I've also been going to the chiropractor on a regular basis trying to get my damn neck fixed. Today it hurts!! But that's because yesterday my daughter and I spent 4 hours making mustard pickles. We canned 24 bottles and they are very yummy BUT if I ever mention that I'm going to make pickles again, please someone STOP ME!! LOL.
Seriously though, it was fun, but leaning over the counter for 4 hours really hurt my neck. So I had a bad night sleeping last night.

Today I'm going to critique for my CP, and tomorrow I'm heading to the city overnight with the family. My son has a 9 o'clock appointment and I'd rather go overnight than get up at 6am and travel then. I am a morning person, but 6am isn't morning to me!

So I'm off to work on that critique.
    Have a great day everyone!!

Oh, just wanted to mention my Avon editor Lucia is still taking questions. If you have any questions for her hop on over here and ask away.http://www.cathrynfox.blogspot.com/

    Manuscript MIA
Last night I receive a phone call from a man in New York who has my Copy Edited manuscript, Lover's Locket, my story in the Alluring Tales anthology.

    Dear God!

He said he has no idea why it was delivered to him, but he's assuming it's pretty important to me. He tried to call Harper Collins, from the number on the UPS waybill but there was no answer, so he called me. THANK GOD!!!

I called UPS and they said they couldn't do anything...Fu&*&^ers.

Anyway I had to call him back and ask if he'd call UPS for me (they saidI had to do that) So he said he's only a few blocks away from Harper Collins so he'ddeliver it on Monday. What a super nice guy.

I can't help wondering if he read it. It was super spicy....snicker.

On another note..Web Of Desire was nominated for a 2006 Ecataromance Reviewers' Choice Award. Yay!

    Tag Line Help
    Hi all,
I'm thinking of a tag line for my Pleasure Games series. This line will go on something special I'm having made to promote the series. I can't tell you all just yet, but soon.

Here are my ideas, but I'm open to yours.

    Pleasure Games.

when the name of the game is passion.
    when games turn to pleasure
    when pleasure turns to passion

    Any ideas?

    When it stops becoming fun.
Last night I went to my son's first soccer playdown game and after the game was over I left the field shaking my head, wondering why parents get the way they do, and why they encourage their kids to win at all costs. It was very disheartening.

The boys on the other team were quite big and one of them took my son out. My son went flying through the air and landed hard on the ground. It's sad when a player goes after another player and not the ball. What is ever sadder is when the coach encourages it, and the parents cheer at the actions. BTW, the coach was the boy's father.

Last night the boys were down by 2-0, which is fine. They played hard and I'm so proud of them. Actually, I don't think I've ever seen them work so hard before. The team they were playing was strong and they needed to step up.

So the other team kicked on net and it looked like the ball went in, but it didn't. One of the mother's on the other team jumps up and stands in front of us. She begins cheering on the top of her lungs and then starts to shake her backside at us. Oh my. She made quite the spectacle of herself.

Then my son is carrying the ball down with one of their players tight on his heels, he makes a shot and misses. My husband makes a private comment to me about how bad the field is (it's was quite bumpy). A mother from the other team pipes in, well, we're all playing on the same team. As if to say, my husband was making excuses because our boys weren't scoring. Wow! What the hell is wrong with people.

One boy on the other team began blowing in one of our players faces and kept taunting him on. OMG, it was awful. Our player finally got so damn annoyed he gave him the shoulder. The referee gave our boy a yellow card (2cards and you're out) The other boy continued to taunt, trying to provoke, trying to get him kicked out of the game. It was damn awful.

I realize this is a competitive sport and everyone wants to win, but at what cost. What are they teaching their children by letting them behave this way, and what are they teaching them by standing up and shaking their ass at the parents of the other team.

Now let me just say one good thing happened. After that boy took my son down, a player from the other team walked up to Alex and asked if he was okay. I thought that was so nice.

    Galleys
This week I am working on my galley's for Pleasure Prolonged. I'm not sure why but I always panic at this stage and want to change EVERYTHING!!

I question every sentence, every word and think, maybe I should change it. Not that I'm allowed to make such changes at this point. I'm driving myself insane.

This story is a January release. It's coming out two months after Pleasure Control. How do you all feel about that? Do you like releases that close?

Just a note: I won't be able to attend the Allure Author writerspace chat tonight. My son begins soccer playdowns and I'll be out with him.

    Twilight Zone
Numbers and dates have always played a big part in my life. So two days ago I go to the store and purchase a few things. My goods totalled $6.66. I look at the kids and say, oooohhh, look at that, isn't that weird.

Then last night I went to check a stat on my website and the number was 666...hmmmm. Okay, that was weird. I get the number 666 in two days.

I find this weird because I'm writing a story set in purgatory!
Yikes. Looking over my shoulders, mildly freaking out.

    A story about me!!
    Check this out... http://moongladeeliteauthors.com/blog/

Jan springer is having a contest, giving away great prizes. All you have to do is write a story for her. I was having a bad day after going to the chirporactor and sad that I had to ice my neck instead of taking a hot bubble bath so ywsmith wrote this for me. Isn't she sweet!

Cathryn awakened to find a well formed man pulling back the covers on her bed. "What are you doing here?" she asked still groggy from her dream.
"I am here to fulfill your dream."

She realized that this was the man from the Nekkid Men deck that had been pleasuring her so well in her dream.
"I will show you the joys an ice cube can bring. After we have finished that lesson, I will fill the bath with hot water and scented bubble. I will clean you most thoroughly. I will pleasure you repeatedly before sunrise, and then I will give you a wonderful surprise. "

He was true to his word trailing an ice cube down her back then turning her to trace across her breasts to her nipples. He circled the cube around the nipples bringing them a pleasure she would never have associated with ice. When the ice was melted his hands moved over her body as if he could see her deepest desires and knew what would bring her pleasure. He brought her to orgasm after orgasm.

He carried Cathryn to the bath and made certain every inch of her body was cleaned. As the sun began to rise he carried her to the kitchen and made her waffles for breakfast. As he fed her the last bite, he told her, "You deserve this and so much more. Never forget, and never settle for anything less." He smiled, kissed her cheek and disappeared.

As she sipped her coffee, Cathryn smiled. Now I will have to convince Kristy to give me those cards.

    Rainy Tournament

Another Gold Medal for the boys!!

Look at how soaked they are. It was crazy. The rain came down so hard at times they could barely see the ball. The ball got kicked into the crowd numerous times because it was so slippery and for some reason, right at me. I got the damn ball in the head TWICE! HARD!

Right after the medals were given out, thunder rumbled in the distance. They finished just in time.
My boy is the one in back on the far left. He got MVP for one of the games...Go Alex!!

    I'M BACK!!

    Hi everyone!
I'm back from Atlanta and wow, I had such a marvelous time! I felt like a kid in a candy store the whole time I was there. Most of the time I stood around slack jawed as I watched my favorite authors walk by!

The conference truly was terrific and I got to meet the Allure Authors in person. Here's a picture of us all.

I love these girls. Especially Cockanna!! (inside joke) These girls sure had a good time making fun of my maritime accent. I kept thinking, what accent? Lisa (the gorgeous on in the middle back row) is the one with the Texas accent. Ya'all, ya'all. Yes, I picked that up!

I did my first book signing ever. Do I look happy? I had that smile on for days. Actually, I'm still smiling. It was especially trilling when a reader came up to me looking for my book. Wow, I'll never get used to that for sure.

I met lots of editors, had breakfast at the Ritz Carlton with the Avon Red authors and Avon editors, Lucia Macro and Esi Sogah. They are both fantastic. I went to the Avon Family Dinner. Susan Elizabeth Phillips stopped by my table to say hello. Not to me directly but still...wow!

I went to the keynote luncheons and listened to Meg Cabot and Christina Dodd speak. They were both funny and inspirational. I took in a few workshops, caught the spotlight on Tor, Warner, and Avon. Avon has something special happening on August 23rd. (my daughter's birthday). Check it out. www.avonfanlit.com

I had lunch at the aquarium with the Passionate Ink members. Yes, sometimes the conference felt like a big food fest. Back to the gym for me.

My presentation on Pillow talk, along with my Ellora's Cave Editor Heather Osborn and fellow Allure authors, Sylvia Day and Delilah Devlin went really well. It was a lot of fun and I had drinks and dinner (yup, more food) with Heather afterwards. I LOVE her. She is so smart, very easy to talk to and so sweet! I also met Raelene Gorlinsky. She is wonderful and wears really cool hats so everyone will recognize her.

I chatted with Adam Nevill, erotica editor of Black Lace. He is such a nice man (very sexy accent!) I really enjoyed talking about the industry with him.

Today is also the GRAND OPENING OF MOONGLADE ELITE AUTHORS. I'm so thrilled to be a part of this group. Tonight all the authors are going to be doing a chat and there will be lots of prizes. Please stop by to say hello. Chat starts at 8 eastern. Check us out here.

    www.moongladeeliteauthors.com

We have so much going on. We even have a Book-A-Day-Give-Away During our Month-Long Grand Opening Celebrations. Yay

Well I think that is all for now. I'm off to work on my newsletter, The Fox Factor. If you're not a member but would like to be, hop on over to my homepage and sign up! I'd love to see you there.
