    Story Idea

I'm working on a synopsis and partial of a new story. It's a really, really different story idea and I'm not sure if it will fly with an editor. A friend is reading it today. I'm nervous, wondering is she' rolling her eyes or if she's intrigued. gulp....

I'm only going to do a partial and submit. I hate to write the whole story if an editor hates it. So when I get feedback I'll let you know and hopefully someone will want to buy it. Then I'll post the synopsis.

Hope you all have a good weekend. My kids have half a day so my daughter and I are walking to the mall. A new store opened that she's dying to check out. A new store in the small town where I live is big news.

One more thing. I'm holding a contest and I'm going to be giving away 50 bottles of Flying Fox Body Wash from Lush. this stuff is amazing. All you have to do is join my newletter for a chance to win. It can be found on my home page...Sexual Chemistry Club. Or you can join here.

    A MUST READ!!!!!

    Now Available!!
Jacq's Warlord Myla Jackson , Delilah Devlin
With proportions that would make Xena weep, Jaqueline Frazier despairs of ever finding a lover she won't squash like a bug.

Everything changes the day she ignores an itty-bitty warning regarding the use of a family heirloom and finds herself swept off her feet by a knight in not so shining armor, back to the twelfth century. Eeek! No toilet paper, no cell phones and no junk food!

Embroiled in the adventure of a lifetime yet forced to accept the protection of the overbearing beast of a man, Rufus of Rathburn, Jacq struggles to find her place in the past while searching for a way back to the future. In the meantime, she aids Rufus' war cause with a little 21st-century ingenuity. Nothing like shaking up the warlord with lessons in bomb-making, guerilla tactics and the joys of sex.

At first unwilling and downright ungrateful, Rufus begins to see merit in Jacq's odd ways. Perhaps because of her eccentricities, Rufus learns of a love and lust that break the barriers of time. But will their love be strong enough for Jacq to plot a different future in the past?

    3 Things...
Name three things that you want to accomplish/do/see before you die...

    For me:
1- To watch my kids grow up, to give them the skills they need to be confident and independent, to give the support and guidance they need to get a good education, and hope they find the happiness in life as I have.

2- To go on a two week long second honeymoon with my husband.

3- To write a best seller.

    Your turn...

    It's official

Yesterday I booked my ticket to California. Squeal. I'm so excited.
Now here's the big news. I also booked tickets for the kids. They don't know, it will be an Easter surprise!

My husband is attending a conference in San Diego so I arranged for a my mother to come watch them and decided to go along. This is a huge trip for me, seeing as I live in Eastern Canada and never go anywhere. (It's going to take 12 hours to get there) It was going to be a nice time for me to write, sit at the pool and watch the pool boys, and a nice quiet time for me and hubby. I told the kids maybe next year I'd take them to Cuba (if I sell some more books LOL) Then I got to thinking, they'd certainly enjoy California more. Disneyland..San Diego Zoo...shopping..
So at the last minute, and I mean the very last minute...I was sitting in the chair at the travel agency when I blurted out, book two more tickets with that.

So there goes my romantic trip with hubby. but what we decided was that we would go to Cuba alone and get the sitter then. Yes....Alone....no I won't change my mind at the last second and bring the kids. LOL

You know though, I enjoy being with them so much. Alex makes me laugh every single day and Allison fills my life with rainbows and butterflies. They make me so happy and in the big scheme of things they are only home with us for such a short time. In 5 years Alex will be off to college and then Allison is right behind him. I know that sounds so far away, but it's not. Those years will fly by in a blur and I'll wonder where they want.
Okay I'm getting all mushy and weepy.

    sniff...

Why oh why did I wait until April to go on a diet!!

Have a great Wednesday everyone. I'm off to work on a proposal...and then to the gym. sigh...

    San Diego
Anyone from the San Diego Area?
My husband has a conference at the end of May and I'm thinking of tagging along. He's staying at a beautiful resort hotel. I have been debating on bringing the kids and taking them to Disneyland. Is it really crazy busy there that time of year? Would it be better to go on a weekday or weekend. I'm assuming weekday. Also what is a good, fairly reasonable hotel to stay at near Disneyland?
Any information would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks.

This is Alex getting his medal at the science fair. See those bike's behind him. Well he really wanted to win one. The guy who was beside him during the judging won one of the bike's. So this morning, being April fools and all, I thought I'd play a nice prank on Alex..hee hee hee.
So the phone rings early, which irked me, but played right into my plan. I get out of bed and as I'm walking by Alex's room he says good morning. I asked him if he heard the phone and he says yes. So I go on to explain to him that there was a mistake at the Science Fair and they meant go give the bike to him. I told him they had him and the boy beside him confused. Now bear in mind, Alex and I play a lot of jokes on each other. But I know I had him for a minute. I could see his mind racing. He was like, you're kidding, his eyes questioning, but hopeful and for the briefest second I knew I had him hooked. So I yell, April Fools!!
Yeah, what a mean ol mom, eh? It's all good, he's actually getting a new bike this year anyway!!

    Science Fair and Copy Edits
Yay, my copy edits are done and they weren't as painful as I had thought they'd be. My editor emailed me the back cover blurb yesterday and I thought it was sooo confusing. She told me I could work on it and send in a new version, so I did. I kept most of what they had, because it was pretty darn good, but I added a part about the H/h testing the libido suppressant on themselves. This wasn't clear in the blurb and it's such vital part of the plot.

So now I'm happy and think it reads better.
Tomorrow I have my writers meeting. A film crew will be there to document our prez, Kelly Boyce. I will be sitting at the back, avoiding the camera. Can't wait to see how it all turns out though.

On another note, Alex won a bronze Medal at the Regional Science fair. Go Alex! So I guess those long hours without food paid off.

Have a great weekend everyone. I'm off shopping with the kids today. My son has grown a foot in the last couple of months and has no pants that fit him.
